Dystopia Rising: Colorado events contain some themes which may be inappropriate for individuals under 18. Some chapters disallow players under 18 altogether; in Colorado, we have an established tradition of providing a great experience to teenagers who have “aged out” of LARP camps and groups in the area that cater to kids as young as ten. In order to accommodate the continued enjoyment, safety, and mental well-being of all of our players, we have the following requirements in effect:

Individuals aged 14 and older, but younger than 18, must have signed waiver(s) by both them as well as their parent/guardian.  A new waiver must be signed every year.

Individuals aged 14 and older, but younger than 18, must have a guardian present with them if staying overnight.  The guardian and the under-18 player will stay in the same cabin or tent when sleeping.

Individuals aged 14 and older, but younger than 18, may attend without a guardian for any registration that does not stay overnight.  This includes our day game(s) at state parks and the “10 Hour Play” ticket on the Saturday of any full weekend event.  Individuals attending an event with the “10 Hour Play” ticket must have a reliable way to leave site, and must leave site when their 10 Hour Play ticket expires (a total of twelve hours, 2 hours of casting and up to 10 hours of in-character LC experience), or midnight on Saturday, whichever occurs first.

Individuals under 14 are not currently allowed at Dystopia Rising: Colorado events, either as participants or as “out of game” spectators.

This policy is subject to future changes and will be re-evaluated no later November 30th, 2024.

Membership in Dystopia Rising: Colorado does not guarantee the ability to attend events at other chapters around the country. When traveling, please consult with those chapters’ websites or Facebook pages to see what their policy is.
